So I mentioned my new summer routine in my last post. I thought I’d share it with you. I’m really enjoying it and getting a lot done so far because it make it possible for me to devote a full work day to both things.

7am- get up, bfast, morning routine and jog (checking emails, the NYtimes ect)
8am- work on photo stuff (either shooting, researching, heading to the studio, or working in the darkroom)
12pm – lunch then more photo stuff
3/4 pm – start on etsy stuff (spinning, knitting, photographing, other stuff)
6pm – dinner break then more etsy stuff
11pm – phone chat with Tim and bedtime

weekends I kind of fill in as I go, trying to balance both things and find some time to chill out a little.

Trying a new regimen — which does not include much procrastinating online. I’ve been working on goodies though!

Also I’ve been trying to set up and make use of my new studio.

I need the space to make more of these with my pal Liz Thatch! (Paper Mache and Tempera Paint)

It must be my new studio space, and spring cleaning desire for organization… but last night …. I’m almost ashamed to say… I had a dream about vintage store shopping with my mom and Tim. I was buying up anything metal mesh on casters. I’m such a weirdo! Here are some favorites in honor of my dream!

flat file 1

Tim and I just drool over this glass top flat file. Someday… in our studio…. we’ll get it from the lovely people at Sonrisa.

I just bought some of these for my apartment. They house my DVD collection, and assorted camera gear that doesn’t make it back into my backpacks because I use it too often. 26 Olive Street hooked me up. Wish I could afford more for my new studio space.

I use jelly jars to store all of my rubber bands, pencils and other little supplies. I’d just love to store them all on this! I guess if you’re dreaming about this stuff the way I am you can beat me to buying it from Old Crow Farm.

Yes, that’s right it’s getting club crazy over here…. New pear clubs available in both of my shops.

In need of a triple dose of homespun pears?! Head on over to my yarn shop!

I dont think discoveries like this one will happen very often now that photography has gone digital.

I love that images like these were hidden away, but now we’ll get to experience them and I think they might change our perception of that time in Mexico.

Tim has a new shirt for sale. I love how this one looks like an old sign!

Mmm

Nothing like a cup of tea and a chocolate coconut macaroon in the afternoon. I have to avoid Clear Flour or I’ll be eating these daily! Dark chocolate… which I just love, and buttery, coconutty goodness!

I’m enjoying the day without class. I’ve been getting some housework done, and making some art. Beautiful day here… I think spring might actually have arrived for good.

bday

I was feeling a little funny this morning about my birthday… with nothing special going on. It’s turned out to be really nice. A bunch of the other photo grad students went for lunch with me, which was very sweet. Then when I got home there were brown boxes waiting for me.

My mom made me this awesome quilt for my birthday. I opened the package and saw it, and I couldn’t help the tears that welled up in my eyes. I was just so excited, and I know how long it took her to make! It’s officially my very favorite thing in the world.

They make my whole apartment smell awesome! Either that means they’re very strong, or that my place is very small. I think it’s the latter.

Since I moved this year, I have been lucky to not have spring allergies. They say it takes 2 years in a new place before you develop more. Maybe that will mean I’ve been away long enough when I move back to NYC that I won’t have them anymore?!

I love having Eli’s Philly row home print in my entry way. A little bit of an old home in a new home.
